What appeals to you most about writing fiction?
In the past I’ve done magazine and newspaper articles and found it confining—after all, I had to stick to the truth. I couldn’t put “quotable” words into anyone’s mouth and I couldn’t control the story. Sometimes I wished I could manipulate the facts in order to make a more readable piece. I get to do just that in fiction. My characters are directed by me—and that’s so much more fun!
